22-year-old Berk Armagan from Turkey is a traveler and self-taught artist who uses paper coffee cups as his canvas. For the most part, Berk pre-plans what to draw at each location. But on occasion, he does get inspired by particular buildings or streets leading to a spontaneous decision to draw right there on the spot.
All of Berk’s drawings are made on the road. He hitchhikes and camps on most of his journey. He also experiences difficult conditions and has limited time to do his work. But despite these pressures, Berk believes that this is an important part of the overall experience.
Berk sells his finished artwork to help fund his expedition. He also uses proceeds from his sales to provide food and shelter to stray dogs and cats in his home country of Turkey.
