If you watch reality television, then you totally understand the concept of fashion makeovers. But who could imagine classic sculptures getting the same treatment? It all began back in 2012 when Leo Caillard, a French photographer, partnered with the Louvre Museum in a project designed to feature historic statues wearing contemporary, modern-day attire.
The project was entitled “The Hipsters in Stone”. The first part of the project required Caillard to photograph the statues that would be featured in the endeavor. The second part required friends of the photographer to pose as the statues in the same position wearing clothes such as t-shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, flannel shirts and sunglasses.
Caillard then wrapped up the project combining both phases using Photoshop. For more great work from Caillard, check out his personal website at leocaillard.com.
