There is a lot of prejudice and many, many stereotypes running rampant in America. Former marine, turned photographer, Joel Pares has created a photo series challenging Americans to rethink these. The first photo presents a prejudice and the second shows us how that is false.
Whether its sexual preference, skin color or socioeconomic status, Pares shows you the real person behind the stereotype. What you see might just surprise you.
“Many of us judge incorrectly by someone’s ethnicity, by their profession, and by their sexual interest,” Parés says. “The purpose of this series is to open our eyes and make us think twice before judging someone, because we all judge even if we try not to.”
