Fantasy to Reality
One of Kataria’s passions is miniature photography because he enjoys turning fantasies into reality.
Kataria also says he enjoys dreaming up something new and exciting to share with his viewers.
Sharing the Passion
When Kataria sets up a scene, he likes to use props that allow the average person to copy what he’s done.
Instead of using pricey premade props, Kataria constructs his own scenes with things like cardboard and polystyrene sheets.
Kataria uses baking powder to create the blowing snow you see in some of his photographs.
Make it Rain
Likewise, a simple squirt bottle of water achieves the rain effect in other photos by Kataria.
Plaster and Paint
Plaster and paint let Kataria create roads that he uses as background in his photos.
Kataria uses Photoshop to clean up and enhance his photographs so they look as realistic as possible.
To give the illusion of speed, Kataria blurs the background so his cars appear to be speeding along the road.
Kataria’s finished products have a fantastic realistic look that tricks you into thinking they are real.
Special computer effects and well placed lighting helps give the miniature scenes an authentic look.
Like the Movies
Many of Kataria’s scenes look like they come straight out of the movies.
Cardboard makes an appearance in the background of many of Kataria’s scenes because he can mold it in many ways.
Here’s a great example of how Kataria uses everyday things, like fake smoke, to create the illusion of a full size scene.
A quick spritz of water makes outdoor photos look like you could walk right into them.
