Any parent who has ever locked their child in the car by mistake knows the fear that it can cause. Usually the fire department can be there quickly to help release the child. Sometimes, it’s not quite that simple.
This toddler locked himself in the car and his mother had to call the fire department. And as it turns out, the toddler loved all the attention to the point where he couldn’t stop laughing throughout the entire process. Luckily, the child is safe now, but you’re going to have a good laugh at the whole story.
Meet Brandon Emery
Brandon is 14 months old and lives in Cornwall, England. He’s a precocious and entertaining toddler, which firefighters are about to find out.
Shopping with Mom
One day, while his mother was loading groceries into the car, Brandon pushed down the central locks in the car. Unfortunately, his mother’s keys were also inside the car.
“I was a bit panicky at first, wondering how I was going to get him out”, says mom Kirsty. Luckily, some fellow shoppers came to her assistance.
Rescue crews from Bude Community Fire Station arrived and broke out their tools to help get Brandon out of the car.
Loving the Attention
Brandon, who was still inside the car, was enjoying all the attention. At one point he put a two pence coin in his mouth, sparking fresh panic from his mother.
Smashing the Window
Eventually, firefighters had to smash out the window of the car to rescue Brandon before he hurt himself or choked on the coin.
“They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh,” says Kirsty. All’s well that ends well.
