Painting in three dimensions is difficult enough, but imagine trying to do so on a piece of glass. Jean-Pierre Weill mastered the technique about 20 years ago when he was a struggling artist trying to make ends meet. He wanted to make it as an artist and avoid the 9 to 5 career path.
Once his idea was born, the pieces sold out almost immediately. Each of Weill’s paintings involve using several layers of glass that are separated by frames between. Light and shadow combine to create an illusion that the work is moving in more than one dimension. Find more at https://www.jeanpierreweill.com/.
